Afternoon mist - a letter to grief. A dance poetry film.
‘To notice the before and after. the intimacy with the terrible tragedy that is within. The entanglement of isolation with longing. Sadness mixed with surrender. Everyone ages when eye to eye with loss. The thing with grief is: her claws are sharp. But look closely and see within her rupture a passage. She holds love, holds life, guiding us to anchor in one another.’
A collaboration between Rose and Monika Vaskorova in Amsterdam, February 2024. The poem took shape a couple months later after processing a personally difficult and tumultuous time. Of course grief has always been and continues to be a collective and universal experience in more ways than one.
